What Information We Collect

When you use Storyroo, we may collect the following information:

• Email address — to deliver your order and communicate with you.
• Child's details — Name, age, appearance preferences and an optional photo supplied by an adult. Only upload a child's photo if you have permission from their parent or guardian.
• Story content and preferences — theme selections, custom details, and other inputs used to generate your personalized content.
• Payment information — Payments are handled by the provider shown at checkout, such as Dodo Payments or Creem. Storyroo does not store full card numbers.
• Usage data — Website interactions, device information and campaign attribution may be processed by analytics and advertising tools when enabled.

How We Use Your Information

• To create your personalized content — your child's name, age, and preferences are used to generate stories, audiobooks, songs, and coloring books tailored to them.
• To process and deliver orders — we use your email to send order confirmations and download links.
• To communicate with you — responding to support requests and sending important updates about your order.
• To improve our service — understanding usage patterns helps us make Storyroo better for everyone.

Data Storage

Your data is stored using secure, industry-standard cloud services:

• Supabase — our cloud database where order and story data is stored.
• Cloudflare R2 — where generated files (PDFs, audio files) are stored for download.

All connections to Storyroo are encrypted with HTTPS.

Third-Party Services

We work with trusted third-party services to operate Storyroo:

• Payment providers — The payment provider displayed at checkout processes the transaction under its own terms.
• Resend — for sending transactional emails (order confirmations, download links).
• AI content providers — AI providers process the text, preferences and optional photo needed to generate the product. Photo inputs can be sent to external image providers. Their processing and retention are governed by the applicable provider terms; we do not promise that inputs are never retained or used for training by every provider.
• Analytics and advertising — Analytics and advertising tools may measure website use and campaign performance when configured.

Children's privacy

Storyroo is intended for adults purchasing on behalf of children. An adult supplies and is responsible for the information and photo they choose to upload.

• We do not collect personal information directly from children.
• Name, age, appearance preferences and an optional photo supplied by an adult. Only upload a child's photo if you have permission from their parent or guardian.
• Children are not required to provide any personal information to use our service.
• Storyroo is intended for adults purchasing on behalf of children. An adult supplies and is responsible for the information and photo they choose to upload.

Data Retention

• Generated content (stories, audio, PDFs) is available for download for 30 days after creation. After that, files may be removed from our servers.
• Order and account data is retained until you request its deletion.

Cookies and Local Storage

Browser storage remembers preferences and drafts. Measurement tools may also store information when enabled.

• Session storage — to maintain your session while using the site.
• Theme preference — to remember your light/dark mode choice.
• Admin authentication — for internal admin access only.

When enabled, Vercel Analytics, Google Analytics, Meta Pixel and Microsoft Clarity can process usage, attribution or session data. Browser storage also remembers preferences and drafts. Do not put sensitive family information in free-text fields.

Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access — request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
• Deletion — request that we delete your personal data and any generated content.
• Portability — request your data in a standard, machine-readable format.

Security
